THREE VEHICLE CRASH SENDS ONE TO THE HOSPITAL

A three car crash in the city of Williamsport yesterday afternoon sent one person to the hospital with unspecified injuries.  The crash occurred around 4pm in the westbound lanes of Interstate 180 near the Market Street bridge as one vehicle ran into the back of another, pushing it into a third.  One person was transported to UPMC Susquehanna Williamsport Regional Medical Center for treatment. Their condition was not released.  None of the persons involved in that accident have been identified. It’s is under investigation by Williamsport City police.

FLOOD WARNINGS CONTINUE

Flood warnings are still out for most of our area, as creeks and streams stabilized some yesterday, but then started to rise again overnight.  Flooding was reported in sections of Muncy, as well as in the Hughesville area overnight, and there was flooding in the Ralston Area along Lycoming Creek as well.  The forecast for the crest on the river has been revised with a crest of 17.5 feet now expected at Williamsport on Thursday which is still below flood stage.  There still could be some low lying flooding along the river for the next couple of days. More showers are expected throughout the day today.

PENNDOT VEHICLE AND TRACTOR TRAILER CRASH

Yesterday morning, a crash-impact vehicle on the back of a state Department of Transportation dump truck proved its worth when a tractor trailer truck slammed into it in the northbound lane of Route 15 at the Beautys Run Road interchange. Both the driver of the tractor trailer and the PennDot employee sitting in the stopped vehicle escaped serious injuries in the 9 a.m. crash. The PennDot vehicle was protecting a group of workers who were cleaning bridges less than 1,000 feet ahead of the truck. Why the driver of the tractor trailer failed to move over to the passing lane was unknown and State police who were leading the investigation have not released any details.

NEW PRINCIPAL IN JERSEY SHORE

The Jersey Shore School District has a new High School Principal. The School Board last night unanimously voted to hire current senior assistant High School Principal Steven Keen as the High School Principal as well as the district’s director of career and technical education.  His job will be effective on July 1st.  Keen will be paid close to $105,000 dollars for the principals job and another $7700 for the CTE job for a total of $112, 667 dollars.  He replaces Reed Mellinger who retired this year after serving 24 years with the district.

MAN CHARGED WITH CHILD PORN

A 19 year old city man was jailed over the weekend after being arrested for possessing child porn.  City police say Darven Moore allegedly displayed a sexual video and nude images of a teenage minor on on social media on Saturday.  He has been charged with dissemination of intimate images, corrupting the morals of a minor and harassment and was arraigned and jailed in Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $99,000 dollars bail.

SOUTH WMSPT LOOKING FOR ASSISTANCE

South Williamsport Borough Council last night during their meeting accepted a proposal to prepare a letter of intent for the Army Corps of Engineers to receive levee assistance until the borough’s levee’s are up to compliance.  The letter will be written by the borough’s engineer and would extend rehabilitation assistance if there was flood damage done to the levee system. The assistance would cover the time until a plan is created with the city of Williamsport to address the deficiencies.  According to borough officials the plan would protect residents as well as the  borough’s investment in the levee.

SHOULDER UPGRADES CLOSE ROADS

Work continues on shoulder updgrades on a couple of Lycoming County Roadways.  Through Wednesday, Fairveiw Road is closed in Loyalsock Township with a detour in place using Four Mile Drive and Warrensville Road.  Then on Thursday and Friday of this week, work will be performed on Brick Church Road and Williamson Trail in Jackson Township. A daylight closure will be in place with Blockhouse Road and Williamson Trail serving as the detour route.  Motorists are reminded to drive with caution in the work zone there.

  2. No purchase is necessary for anyone to participate in any Backyard Broadcasting of Pennsylvania, LLC contest.
  3. All mail-in/fax-in entries are selected by random drawing.
  4. All prizes will be presented to the prize winner unless otherwise stated in the rules. Cash will not be substituted for the prize(s).
  5. Backyard Broadcasting of Pennsylvania, LLC is not responsible for prizes that are lost or delayed due to delays with the U.S. Postal Service or other carrier services.
  6. Employees and their immediate families of Backyard Broadcasting of Pennsylvania, LLC and its agencies, as well as clients and their immediate families sponsoring a specific contest, are not eligible to win.
  7. Winners are responsible for all applicable taxes and fees.
  8. Winners have thirty (30) days from the day they win to pick up their prize(s) at the offices of Backyard Broadcasting of Pennsylvania, LLC, 1685 Four Mile Drive, Williamsport, PA unless otherwise stated in the specific contest rules. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. If prize(s) are not picked up, winner will forfeit all claims to prize(s).
  9. By accepting the prize(s), the winner gives consent to Backyard Broadcasting of Pennsylvania, LLC to use the winner’s name, photographs, voice, physical location and prize information for promotional purposes and without further compensation.
  10. Winners may not make substitutions on dates, times, and/or destinations required to accept the prize(s) being awarded in any Backyard Broadcasting of Pennsylvania, LLC contest.
  11. Winners of prizes with a value of six hundred U.S. dollars ($600.00) or more will be obligated to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and to provide their social security/tax identification number before receiving the prize(s). Failure to comply with any requirements of these rules will result in the winning entrant being deemed ineligible for the prize.
    1.  Winners of any cash prize will be obligated to produce their address and social security number. This is for clerical purposes only. Failure to comply with this request will result in the winning entrant being deemed ineligible for the cash prize.
    2. In the event the prize is a firearm, the Winner MUST legally be able to own a firearm per state and federal laws and regulations, and pass a background check in order to redeem the firearm in Pennsylvania. Time Delay Between Over-the-Air Analog and/or HD Signal and Other Signal Delivery: Due to the time delay that exists between the Station’s analog over-the-air and/or HD signal and the Station’s online webcast, listeners who listen to the Station online may hear Contest information or a cue to call later than listeners listening to the Station’s analog over-the-air and/or HD signal. As a result, the odds of an online listener winning this Contest may be diminished.
