VICTIM UPDATE FROM JERSEY SHORE FIRE
More details have come forth about the weekend fire at the Broadway Hotel on S. Broad St. in Jersey Shore.  According to the Sun Gazette, the Assistant chief of Citizen’s Hose Company, Ethan Goodbrod and Jeremy Frantz, rescued trapped tenant, Matthew White, from the third floor after smashing out an air conditioner and carrying him down the fire truck ladder.  Another tenant, Michael Spotts, who lived on the second floor, suffered burns on his hands and was treated by emergency crews after getting out of the building.  According to a family member, Spotts is at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville and is being treated with unknown injuries and White was treated at the Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown.  Damage estimates for the hotel are in excess of 200 thousand dollars according to one fire marshal investigating the scene the cause remains undetermined.

SUNBURY KITCHEN FIRE: NO INJURIES
There were no injuries in a kitchen fire in Sunbury yesterday thanks to the volunteer firefighters who were on the scene quickly.  Fire chief Brad Wertz Jr. told local media outlets that a kitchen fire began in a half-double along Lenker Avenue before 8pm Tuesday night and crews from each of the city’s departments responded and kept the fire from spreading.  Four occupants of the home got out in time and the American Red Cross has assisted the family.

GRANT FOR LEAF COLLECTION VEHICLE AND CARD SYSTEM
The Williamsport City Council finance committee has recommended that the city use a 280 thousand dollar grant for recycling improvements.  According to the SUN gazette, city officials obtained the grant through the State Department of Environmental Protection and will be used to install a card reader system so that residents with access can use the city brush pile at 1500 West  Third street 24/7. A leaf collection vehicle will also be purchased with the remainder of the funds.

MAYOR TO SPEAK AT MLK JR. DEDICATION
Mayor Derek Slaughter will give a keynote speech during a dedication ceremony tomorrow at Lycoming College, recognizing April 24, 1958, the day Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  addressed the college community in Clarke Chapel. A plaque will be presented that was funded by a Lycoming College alumnus who heard King speak. In a press release by the college,  Mayor Slaughter said he will speak on how Dr. King’s influence and legacy still resonates in the lives of everyday citizens in Williamsport.  The ceremony begins Thursday at 7pm at Clarke Chapel on campus.

JUVENILE CHARGED WITH ASSAULT
Charges have been filed in Northumberland County Juvenile Court after an incident between students in Coal Township.  According to the Daily Item, a 14 year old student at Shamokin Middle School stabbed another student with an X-acto knife blade on January 30th.  Police say the teen also threatened two others with the blade at the school and is charged with assault and disorderly conduct.

NO ANSWERS YET IN FATAL PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT
Media outlets continue to investigate the death of a Williamsport man who was killed while crossing West Fourth and Williams Streets in a wheelchair last autumn.  According to police reports, John Yarosz was struck and killed by an SUV last October 19th, but police are not releasing any more information 4 months after the incident.  According to the Sun Gazette, Police chief Damon Hagan told them that the DA must make the decision to release a statement if a crime has been committed.  Law enforcement officials say the investigation is ongoing.

POLICE WANT TO STRAMLINE VEHICLE FLEET
The Williamsport city council finance committee this week has recommended that the city police purchase 3 vehicles with budget money amounting to140 thousand dollars.  According to the Sun Gazette, Police Chief Damon Hagan told council he wants to streamline the vehicles on the force from 21 down to 18.  Hagan also got an approval for a memorandum of understanding resolution between the Williamsport Area School District and the police for a school resource officer.

BOY SCOUTS OK IN WILLIAMSPORT
According to a Statement by the executive of the Susquehanna Council of the Boy Scouts, Dennis Dugan, say local scouting is not at risk. Dugan said in a press release that local councils are separate and distinct from the national organization and that scouting will remain a source of lifelong benefits to youth and local  communities for generations. Recently the Boy Scouts of America filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy over sexual abuse lawsuits. Find out more about how local councils are now governed at www.BSArestructuring.org

WATER MAIN BREAK PROMPTS A BOIL-WATER ADVISORY
A water main break occurred on Monday night in Loyalsock Township on Northway Rd., south of Four Mile drive and has brought on a boil water advisory for the area and a closure for area schools. According to a press release by the Williamsport Municipal Water Authority following the repair, there is a boil water advisory for customers on Northway road between Four Mile and  Loyalsock Drive, and on Loyalsock Drive from Northway road to Fredna Avenue.  Find information on the full boil water notification at wmwa dash wsa.org which shows a map of homes in the affected area.  According to the Authority, customers will be notified when the advisory is lifted.  Loyalsock Area Schools are closed today.

SCHOOL INVESTIGATES ALLEGED STUDENT MADE VIDEO Administrators at the Jersey Shore Area School District have released a statement about what is being called a “racist and vulgar” video allegedly made by district students, depicting them repeating a racist chant. According to the Sun Gazette, an investigation has begun and the matter will be addressed according to district policy when students are back in school today.  In the statement, it was noted that the incident is not a true reflection of the district or community.  Officials will determine if it was made in a Jersey Shore classroom today.

PURPLE PAINT MEANS NO TRESPASSING
A purple paint law has gone into effect this week after Governor Tom wolf signed it into law last November.  It states that landowners can use purple paint instead of signs to mark private land and no trespassing. The use of Vertical purple lines in a specific distance from the ground will define the boundary of an adjoining private property that’s posted against trespassing. The same House Bill 1772 will allow anyone who is unarmed to retrieve a hunting dog on private land.

COUNTERFEIT MONEY USED IN SNYDER COUNTY
State police are investigating an incident in which counterfeit money was used at a restaurant in Snyder County.  According to state troopers, the incident happened earlier in February at a restaurant in Hummels Wharf when someone used counterfeit 100 dollar bills.  According to witnesses the suspects left in a white vehicle, possibly a Nissan sentra.  If you have information on the transaction, please call state police.

MAN SENTENCED FOR TAX EVASION AFTER EMBEZZLEMENT
A man from State College has been sentenced this week for tax evasion charges after allegedly embezzling over 800 thousand dollars from Number One Cycle Centre in Centre County.  According to the North Central PA dot com, Jeremy Snyder, 43, of State College, was sentenced to 18 months  imprisonment and 2 years probation.  Officials say Snyder never paid taxes on the funds he took resulting in penalties and fines over 200 thousand dollars.  The IRS investigated the case.

ROBBER FLEES SCENE, CAUGHT BY POLICE
A man from Jersey Shore has been sentenced to county jail after pleading guilty to felony criminal trespass following a break-in at a Mifflin Township home.  According to State Troopers, 33 year old Dacota B. Clarke, 33,broke into a home on Little Pine Road on March 7, 2018 and was caught by the home owner while inside.  Clarke ran to a nearby home covered in mud and received hilp with a ride and use of a phone.  Police tracked Clarke down after a brief investigation. Clarke has been charged with simple assault in Centre County and theft in Clinton County

TROUT STOCKING SCHEDULE RELEASED
The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission has released the trout stocking schedule for 2020, and the commission plans to stock about 70%  of 60,000 brood fish, in the preseason and the other 30% will be stocked in-season.  Brood fish are14- to 20-inch-long, hatchery-raised rainbow, brown and brook trout.  Golden rainbow trout will also be stocked in both the preseason and in-season. The 2019 season will open Saturday, March 23 with the Mentored Youth Trout Fishing Day program

GAS PRICES ARE GOING UP IN PA
Gas prices are going up again in the Susquenhanna Valley, according to gas buddy dot com, the lowest prices for as in Lycoming county come in at around 2.52 a gallon.  However, according to Energy source, the coronavirus scares did  hurt oil prices in recent weeks, but now prices have rebounded.  Gasoline prices are up 2.1 cents per gallon in The Valley, and e national average gasoline price has also risen 0.7 cents per gallon in the last week.

JERSEY SHORE HOTEL FIRE BEING INVSETIGATED
Pennsylvania State Police are still investigating a three alarm fire in Jersey Shore at the Broadway Hotel that burned out the top two floors of the building and injured two tenants.  According to witnesses, the fire started around 10pm and firefighters rescued one man from a top floor and another found on the front steps of the hotel who was burned. WNEP reported that two other tenants were displaced and helped by the Red Cross.  Over 15 fire companies responded to the blaze.

BELLEFONTE MAN SENTENCED
A man from Bellefonte was sentenced on February 7th in Lycoming County Court to 3 to 24months in jail, community service and restitution after breaking into a home in Mifflin township and stealing firearms.  According to North Central PA dot com, Caleb Aubrey Lazorka admitted to police that he entered a home in on Seely Run Road in September 2017 when  the owner was on vacation and took 3 guns and sold them.  Lazorka plead guilty to one third degree felony count of criminal trespass and carrying a firearm without a license.

WHITE DEER GOLF MADE MONEY LAST YEAR
Lycoming County Commissioners have reported a positive trend for the White Deer Golf Course that has finished out the year with finances in the black.  According to the Sun Gazette, operations were turned over to Billy Casper Golf  in 2016 and financially the complex has made large jumps turning over a 93 thousand dollar loss into a slight profit for 2019.  Officials said a $40 thousand infusion from the county helped begin a turning point they hope will be a trend in 2020.  County officials will still work to sell unused property at the course for future development.

SUNBURY HOSPITAL INCREASES SERVICES TO FILL GAP
Geisinger medical center has announced longer hours as well as evening and weekends to accommodate the public after closures at UPMC Susquehanna Sunbury as affect the community.  According to a press release, Geisinger Medical Center in Sunbury will open longer hours burt also will feature a virtual resource center with additional information online at Geisinger.org forward slash sunbury care. UPMC Susquehanna Sunbury is scheduled to fully close by March 31 but they have already closed the emergency room and stopped some services.

CATAWISSA BUSINESS FIRE SATURDAY
There was a serious fire in Catawissa that caused an evacuation of employees and dispatch of dozens of firefighters Saturday.  According to WNEP, a fire broke out about 6p.m. Saturday at Melick Aquafeed 139 S. First Street in Catawissa.  A passerby who k new employees there saw the flames, alerted them and then called in the blaze to 911.  A state police fire marshal is working to determine a cause today, but officials won’t go inside to investigate further due to 30 to 40 thousand pound beams hanging overhead in the structure unsecured and it’s unsafe.

MOTORIST GAVE FALSE ID, CHARGES FILED
Charges have been filed in District court against 25-year-old Kenneth Heileg of Sunbury after police say he was stopped for driving under the influence.  According to Selinsgrove State troopers, Heileg provided false identification when he was stopped and upon further investigation, police found controlled substances in his car.  Police also said Heileg showed signs of impairment during a field sobriety test.

FAYLOR LAKE INFO SESSION TONIGHT
Officials in Snyder County are hoping the public will weigh in on future work of Faylor Lake tonight at a meeting at the MACC in Beaver Springs.  According to  media reports, Faylor Lake is one the county’s top outdoor recreation spots one of three lakes built in the county in the early 1980’s.  Comissioners are hoping the public will come and look at the materials and offer suggestions, possible pursuing a Green Way and Open Space Plan in which a grant could be obtained through  DCNR.

SOIL REMDIATION PROJECT IN CHERRY TOWNSHIP
Motorists who travel Route 220 in Cherry Township, Sullivan County, are advised of a lane restriction due to a soil remediation project that will take place on Tuesday, February 18. According to PennDOT, traffic will be restricted to a single lane under daylight flagging, while the contractor works on the southbound side of Route 220, approximately one mile north of Dushore, in Cherry Township, Sullivan County.  The work is expected to take place on Tuesday, February 18, between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

Bucknell basketball star Mike Muscala had his college jersey retired Saturday night at halftime of Bucknell‘s game against American. According to the Sun Gazette, Muscala now with the NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder, is just the third men’s player to have his jersey retired. Number 33 now hangs in Sojka Pavilion.

MURDER TRIAL FOR PHILLY NATIVE, DAY TWO
Three people testified against Joseph Sentore Coleman Jr in day 2 of his murder trial in Lycoming County Court.  Coleman is serving time for 2 murders and is on trial for a third, allegedly the person who orchestrated the robbery against Christopher Wilkins who was murdered at his home in August of 2016.  Forensic evidence was presented yesterday that attempted to support that a group aided Coleman during the crime.  Day three of the trial begins today at 9:30.

ENOUGH EVIDENCE FOR MURDER TRIAL OF MILLVILLE TEEN
A Columbia County teen is facing premeditated murder charges after his arrest last month when his parents were found shot in their home near Millville. According to WNEP police said Flint and Sharon Kressler were killed in their home and it was staged to look like a burglary.  According to state police Carl Kressler, their adopted son, admitted to killing his parents and leaving the scene to dispose of the gun before returning to call police January 30th.  Kessler.  Kressler’s  defense stated that he had been awake 21 hours before confessing.  A Columbia County judge rulled there is evidence to go forward wioth criminal homicide and evidence tampering charges.  Kressler is in Columbia County Jail.

NEW WEBSITE FOR ABESTEE BALLOT APPLICATION
There is a new website in Pennsylvania for voters.  Voters can go to this newly launched site,  with their PA drivers license and can request the newly legalized mail-in ballots ahead of the state’s April 28 primary election.  This site can also be used to apply to vote absentee . The site will determine eligibility for casting an absentee ballot . The deadline for county election offices to receive applications is 5 p.m. April 21st, the deadline to receive a mail-in or absentee ballot … 8 p.m. April 28.  Go to votespa.com for information and to apply.

BUCKNELL GETS $1M GRANT FOR DIGITAL PROGRAM
Bucknell will be able to develop a a liberal arts based digital editions publishing cooperative thanks to a recent million dollar grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, in partnership with the National Historical Publications and Records Commission.  According to the Daily item,  a group of select scholars will collaborate to develop an online editorial production, and preservation framework for scholarly publishing.  The funding will provide additional staffing, significant support for undergraduate research in digital humanities, and digital infrastructure to develop and manage the Bucknell Digital Press.

FOLLOW UP ON LOYALSOCK ACCIDENT
There’s more information released about the accident that last Monday morning in Loyalsock Township.  According to state police, a car driven by 66 year old Lester McStay of Williamsport and one driven by Brian Beattie of Montoursville collided just off the Faxon exit and McStay was injured in the crash.  East Third Street near Northway road was blocked for about an hour while emergency crews worked to clear the scene.  McStay was treated at Williamsport Regional Medical Center.

FORMER DEPUTY SHERIFF INDICTED FOR EMBEZZELMENT
A Laporte woman who was the Sullivan County Deputy Sheriff has been charged with embezzling funds over 7 years.  According to PennLive, 63 year old Mary Handzus was fired from the office last February after discrepancies occurred in one bank account and an audit revealed there was almost 200 thousand dollars missing from accounts in which she had access.  Handzus allegedly wrote checks for her personal use between 2012 and 2019, but not from taxpayer monies.  The charges were filed in filed in U.S. Middle District Court.  The charge of this type of embezzlement carries a 10-year maximum prison term. Another hearing has been scheduled for Feb. 20.

SCHOOL SEEKS NEW BUSINESS MANAGER
The Midd-West School board is looking to hire a new business manager by the end of February. According to the Daily item, the Superintendent of the school said the board will soon vote on a successor to Amy Simmons who left the job last November. Two prior business managers of the district were asked to help prepare next year’s spending plan until a full-time replacement is hired.  The next school board meeting is scheduled fo Feburary 24th

THE DMV WILL BE CLOSED FOR PRESIDENTS DAY WEEKEND
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced closures for the upcoming Presidents day holiday.  All driver license and photo centers, including its full-service center in Harrisburg, will be closed this Saturday the 15th, through Monday the 17th, in observance of Presidents Day.  DMV customers are always encouraged to go to the state website DMV dot PA dot GOV  24 hours a day, for all driver and vehicle products and services, including all forms, publications and driver training manuals.

WILLIAMSPORT MURDER TRIAL BEGINS FOR PHILLY NATIVE
The first day of testimony wrapped up yesterday in Lycoming County Court in the murder trial of Philadelphia native Joseph Sentore Coleman Jr., currently in jail with two consecutive life sentences for an October 2016 double homicide. According to the Sun Gazette, Court records say Coleman allegedly robbed and murdered Christopher Wilkins two months earlier in August of 2016 at 505 Park Avenue in Williamsport, but the defense says they have the wrong person in this murder.  Wilkins roommate, 27 year old Savoy Jennings testified in the case admitting he left town with money that belonged to Wilkins after he discovered him dead, and had a friend call police about the murder who then lied about the circumstances surround the incidents.  The trial continues today at 9am.

FIRE DESTROYS MOTORCYCLE CLUB HOUSE
A local motorcycle club lost their Hepburn Township building to fire Sunday night.  According to the Sun Gazette, the one story building on Heleeka Road that housed a bar and entertainment equipment, was maintained by the Road Knights Motorcycle Club.  Witnesses saw flames from the interstate, called in the incident around 11pm and according to fire officials, the 40 by 40 structure was completely engulfed in flames when volunteer firefighters arrived.  It was declared a total loss with no insurance on the building, but there were no injuries.

EDUCATORS TO SUPPORT WOLF’S CHARTER SCHOOL PROPOSAL
The Keystone Central School Board made a motion last week to weigh in on charter school reform and support proposed budget legislation by Governor Tom Wolf.  According to some board members as reported by the Sun Gazette, calculating the logics of funding for charter schools in some cases is hard to pin down.  The school board will meet this week to vote on approval for signatures of a supportive resolution.  The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the Central Mountain Auditorium in Mill Hall.

TWO TOWNS APPLY FOR A TELEVISION MAKE-OVER
Two area towns have entered a television network contest which, if successful, the bid could bring a makeover for the entire town.  Both Sunbury and Shamokin have submitted an entry in HGTV’s ‘Hometown Takeovers which includes a video  which pitches the fix-up-needs of the town.  According to the Daily Item, that could include homes, businesses and public parks.  The winning town would be featured in a special six-episode series planned to premiere in 2021.

LOYALSOCK ACCIDENT CLOSES ROAD
An unidentified driver was hospitalized yesterday evening after an accident in Loyalsock Township closed the road for about an hour.  According to police reports
a local man was driving a Toyota 4Runner on Warrensville Road, north of Four Mile Drive around 7 p.m,  lost control of the vehicle and overturned.  According to the Sun Gazette, the man was briefly trapped in the wreckage, then transported to Williamsport Regional.  Once the car was uprighted and removed from the scene, township firefighters reopened the roadway.

GRANT BRINGS NEW SOUTHSIDE EQUIPMENT
South Williamsport Borough Council will expand its recycling services this spring after a grant with a borough match is presented in March of this year.  According to the Sun Gazette, a dump truck, a front-end loader, and wood chipper will be purchased for garden residue and yard waste, with the 300 thousand dollars from the state Department of Environmental Protection.  The local match is just over 31 thousand dollars required by the state. In other Southside news, any resident of the borough’s third ward who is interested in filling the seat of Councilman Henry Frey Jr’s who will be moving from the area can contact borough manager, Steven W. Cappelli.

MAYOR SEEKS NEW FIRE CHIEF
Some changes are on the way for the Williamsport Bureau of Fire.  According to the Sun Gazette, Mayor Derek Slaughter is searching for a new fire chief, and has offered current Fire Chief, Todd Heckman other opportunities.  Heckman was hired under former Mayor Gabriel Campana.  The job oversees the department which has 33 members and candidates will be considered from within and outside the department.

3 STUDENTS HONORED FOR HELPING FORMER TEACHER
Three area students were honored this week for helping a woman who was trapped in a SUNbury Car Wash facility.  According to the daily item, Macy Carper, Alyssa Keeley, and Brianna Hennett heard a former Shikellamy school district teacher of theirs, Anne Hollenbach yelling as she was pinned nearby.  She was in the car  with the door closing on her while reaching for a dropped debit card as the vehicle was still in drive.  The girls approached the scene and Carper got in the passenger side putting the car in park stopping Hollenbach from being more hurt.   The girls were presented with Sunbury’s “Caring Award.”

BAD WEATHER AND ACCIDENTS DURING THE COMMUTE
An injury accident occurred this morning at East 3rd and Northway Rd in Loyalsock Township around 5:30 this morning after winter weather caused problems for today’s commute. A Hazardous Weather Outlook was issued for today and tonight in Northern Lycoming and Clinton, Tioga and Sullivan Counties.  According tot he National Weather Service, expect an additional coating to one inch across the higher elevations, with snow melting as it heads into the warmer valleys, where temperatures will be in the mid 30s.

PRELIMINARY HEARING WAIVED OVER RATTLESNAKE POACHING
A Trout Run man who is facing sentencing in a 2017 incident for shooting 12 bucks and leaving the carcasses in Cogan Station, has waived his preliminary hearing last week for illegally hunting rattlesnakes and also plead guilty in a separate rattlesnake incident from October of 2019.  According to North Central Pa dot com, Cody L. Short whose leg had been amputated from snake bites appeared in Lycoming County Court Wednesday.  Short’s unsecured bail was set at 1500 dollars.

SNOWBOARDS STOLEN
Police are seeking a suspect in a case where 18 snowboards were stolen from the back of a company truck from a parking area in Jackson Township.  According to police, 9000 dollars-worth of snowboards were taken from the back of a truck owned by Gilson Snow, Inc on New Berlin Highway in Winfield between January 26th and January 31st.  If you have any information on this Snyder County theft, please call police.

PENNDOT CALLED PUBLIC MEETING FOR 220 PROJECT
A Route 220 safety project will be taken on by PennDOT and an informational meeting has been scheduled for later this season.  Representatives from PennDOT District 3 will have an informational meeting in which the public is invited to attend.  An overview of the project will be presented which includes a widening of the roadway and utility relocation on March 9th at the project field office.   The project is said to begin in mid-March of 2020 and is expected to be completed in the fall.

ALLEGED RAPIST OF 7 YEAR OLD INCARCERATED
A man claiming that the mother of the 7 year old child he raped, threatened him to commit the act, police say Jersey Shore man has been charged with several felony counts of statutory rape.  According to North Central PA dot com, the child he was babysitting in his home told the parent, who was at work at the time, that 20 year old Tommy Hoffman allegedly committed the assault.  According to State police, Hoffman’s polygraph test showed signs of deception when asked about contact with minors.  Hoffman is incarcerated at the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $90,000 straight bail.

POLICE SEARCH FOR GUNS INCARCERATE TWO SUSPECTS
Acting on a tip, Shamokin Police served a warrant last Friday to a man on state parole who allegedly had guns on the property.  According to police reports the suspect in the case and a female who was found on the property during the search and both were detained.  An investigation is ongoing after the woman told police about gun and drug activity in the home.  No charges have been filed as of the weekend.

BRASS KNUCKLES FOUND DURING UNRELATED INCIDENT
A person was caught last week with brass knuckles during an unrelated incident last week.  According to reports by State Police in Stonington, Andre White of Coal Township and Brandy Sturtz of Baltimore were charged with scattering trash, insulation and siding in East Cameron Township.  During the investigation one of the suspects had the brass knuckles which are illegal in Pennsylvania.  Charges are pending in Northumberland County Court.

PENNDOT DISCOURAGES UNNECESSARY TRAVEL There are winter weather warnings in affect for area counties today which will impact travel and activities around the region.  Bradford County is operating under a winter storm warning until 4pm today with accumulations of 4-8 inches of snow, Northern Lycoming and Sullivan counties a warning in place until 2pm with snow accumulations of 4-8 inches and Tioga County also warned until 2pm with more snow expected there 5-9 inches accumulating there.  PennDOT is discouraging unnecessary travel.

POSITIVE REPORT ABOUT SHARED POLICE SERVICES
As the deal to share police services between South Williamsport and the Borough of Duboistown took affect last month, DuBoistown Borough council heard a positive report at last night’s meeting.  The South Williamsport borough manager reported a seamless transition with no serious calls for the region and noted that that former DuBoistown Chief Hagar officially joins South Williamsport.Previously the Duboistown police department had only two on-duty officers and Pennsylvania State Police assisted the department over 70 hours per week.  Duboistown will pay almost $120,000 a year for the service.

ASSAULT CHARGES AFTER PULLING GUN ON TROOPERS
A man was arrested after threatening State Troopers first with a knife and then pulling a gun.  According to State police reports, 23-year-old Lowell Hoover of Port Trevorton was holding a knife in the area of an investigation when state troopers asked him to drop it.  He did but pulled a gun on the officers who then took Hoover into custody. According to the Sun Gazette, Hoover was charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest and weapons possession and is in custody on 250 thousand dollars bail.

DRUG RING EXPOSED MORE CHARGES PENDING
The Williamsport Bureau of Police seized about $20,000 worth of narcotics from a Williamsport man after receiving a tip that he would be purchasing drugs in the poconos.  Police apprehended Christopher C. Raemsch last August, saying they exposed a drug ring that extends to the Philadelphia area, finding 8 pounds of marijuana in the man’s vehicle and upon searching his home with a warrant that same day, discovering THC vape cartridges, cocaine and methamphetamine.  According to North Central PA dot com, charges have yet to be filed against suspects in the Philly area as the investigation continues.

WOMAN IN FILTHY HOME CHARGED WITH CHILD ENDANGERMENT A woman from Washingtonville was charged for endangering a child after police did a welfare check at her home and uncovered a large amount of there.  According to Fox 56 police investigated the home of 56 year old Lucy Mowery last month while she was caring for a 1 year old and a disabled 17 year old whose wheelchair would not fit inside the home dues to the debris stacked inside the home the 400 block of Blue Springs Terrace.  According ot WNEP, Mowrey is allowed to stay in the home awaiting the court date, her 17 daughter is no longer living there.

POLING PRECINCT LOCATION CHANGE
Residents who use White Deer 4 voting precinct in Union County will have a new polling station due to the closure of the old location. According to the Daily Item, St. John’s United Church of Christ on Tabernacle Road, will close and Commissioners approved the relocation.  According to county officials,  the church and its buildings will be offered for sale.  The new polling location for residents of White Deer 4 voting precinct will be Bonanza Restaurant, 300 Commerce Park Drive.Sports
