LINDEN MAN ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT OF PARMEDIC
A man from Linden who police say was intoxicated was taken into custody early Sunday for aggressive and loud behavior, but when requiring medical assistance while in custody for a breathing difficulty, he allegedly assaulted a paramedic at police headquarters on Nichols Place. According to the Sun Gazette, Nyreece Speck required sedation after he broke from his restraints and was transported to UPMC Williamsport. He was later arraigned for felony aggravated assault, resisting arrest and more. He is in Lycoming County Prison in lieu of 35 thousand dollars bail.
ILLINOISMAN ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT WITH A BRICK
A man from Illinois who was formerly employed at Robinson Transportation was arrested for threatening a current employee with a brick the Budget Inn in Old Lycoming Township on March 5th. According to North Central PA dot com, 59 year old Keith A. Peoples Sr, allegedly took vehicle keys from the victim and threatened to smash the windows of their vehicle. When police arrived on scene they say Peoples had a brick in hand. He was charged with theft, simple assault and more and is in Lycoming County Prison on 15 thousand dollars montetary bail.
PUBLIC ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE IN PENNDOT SURVEY
In an effort to provide a safe, efficient transportation system in Pennsylvania, the Shapiro Administration is asking for public input on future transportation projects and priorities. PennDOT is offering various ways to review and comment on the 12- Wednesday, April 30. With an online public forum about the plan scheduled for Thursday, April 10, from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. The public comment period occurs every two years when the State Transportation Commission and PennDOT update the TYP.
NORTH CENTRAL PA ORGANIZATIONS RECOGNIZED
The Visit Potter-Tioga PA Visitors Bureau is on the Top 100 Organizations in Central Pennsylvania list for the third consecutive year. According to Pennsylvania Business Central the recognition highlights the organization’s impact on the region which has been essential in expanding tourism and strengthening the economy of Potter and Tioga counties. Also making the list are Geisinger, Little League, AccuWeather, UPMC, North Central Sight Services, and North Shore Railroad as top organizations recognized in Pennsylvania. The Tioga County Visitors Bureau and the former Potter County Visitors Association merged in 2017.
SAFE STOLEN FROM HVAC BUSINESS
State police at Lamar are investigating a recent theft at a local HVAC business. According to North Central PA dot com, a safe with thousands of dollars and personal documents inside was stolen from a back room of M&M Total Service between February 24th and February 28th. Owners of the business say up to 4 thousand dollars in cash and loose coin was stolen along with personal documents like a birth certificate and social security card as well as several vehicle titles and personal checks. MEGAN’S LAW REGISTRANT ARRESTED
A man from Athens who has been a Megan’s Law Registrant since 2000 has been jailed for failing to comply with registration requirements. According to North Central PA dot com, 44 year old Steven Kenneth Stack went to the Towanda State Police barracks attempting to make a yearly check-in, but upon investigation, had missed an in-person meeting earlier in February. Stack was charged with failure to verify address and be photographed and was committed to Bradford County Prison in lieu of 150 thousand dollars bail.
CITY SPRING CLEAN UP SCHEDULED
The City of Williamsport’s annual 2025 Spring Cleanup has been scheduled. Yard debris collection will occur on Monday, April 14 through Sunday, April 20th. According to city officials, they will collect loose limbs, leaves, plant and shrub clippings placed along the curbline. No bagged clippings will be picked up and due to equipment limitations in side roads and alleys, only Main Street pick up will be done with absolutely no grass clippings accepted. Crews will come through one time and if homeowners still have debris to discard, it can be taken to the brush pile located at 1550 West Third Street.

The Steelers acquired wide receiver DK Metcalf from the Seattle Seahawks for a 2025 second-round draft pick and agreed to a five-year, $150 million extension.
